I am Michelle Moore, a dedicated Developmental Therapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, bringing over 17 years of extensive experience working with infants and toddlers. My professional focus within the Illinois Early Intervention Program is multifaceted, encompassing empowering parent coaching, developing tailored resources, and fostering healthier relational dynamics within families.

My journey into this incredibly rewarding field began as a Service Coordinator with CFC 11 at Rush University Medical Center. This foundational experience, where I was deeply involved in establishing required documentation, coordinating appointments for evaluations, and ensuring continuity of care, ignited a profound desire within me to transition into a direct service provider role. This led me to pursue further qualifications as a Developmental Therapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, allowing me to engage more directly and meaningfully with families.

What I find most fulfilling about working in Early Intervention is the profound privilege of creating a supportive, non-judgmental space where families can discover clarity, cultivate peace, and restore balance in their lives. It's truly inspiring to help them embrace their unique purpose and nurture deeper, more resilient connections—not only with their children and immediate families but also within their broader social circles and with themselves.

My practice is deeply informed by advanced training and evidence-based approaches. I am proudly certified in Reciprocal Imitation Teaching (RIT), an Applied Behavioral Analysis-based strategy obtained through Rush University. RIT is specifically designed to enhance imitation skills and build foundational learning strategies for neurodivergent learners, contributing significantly to their developmental progress. Furthermore, I am actively involved with Northwestern University's Early Intervention Research Group, specifically their "Reduce the Wait" initiative, which focuses on critical early assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorders in children aged 0-3. This involvement underscores my commitment to early identification and intervention.

For new or aspiring EI providers, my primary advice centers on a collaborative and empathetic approach. I believe that true progress is achieved when we work as a cohesive team with families, delving into the root causes of their difficulties rather than just addressing symptoms. By empowering them with practical strategies and fostering meaningful social connections, we not only address immediate challenges but also build lasting resilience.
